Parent volunteer information
Parent volunteers are an integral part of the All Souls experience. Parent volunteers are not permitted in the classrooms for the first six weeks of the school year so that students and teachers are able to develop appropriate routines and procedures. Before volunteering at our school, all of the following must be completed: fingerprinting via the Archdiocese, VIRTUS training, signed Guidelines for Adults Interacting with Minors at Parish/School Activities or Events, and the Volunteer Agreement Form.
Please pick up your form at the front office. Upon completion, please submit a copy of your receipt to the front office.
Any adult volunteer, including volunteer coaches, parents/guardians, people assisting in the classroom, and others who have regular contact with students or minors at an elementary school or high school, in a manner similar to paid personnel in a comparable role, will be subject to fingerprinting under the California Education Code. Other volunteers at an elementary school or high school will be subject to fingerprinting under the California Penal Code. |
VIRTUS® Protecting God's Children Adult Awareness Session is a three-hour training that helps clergy, staff, volunteers and parents to understand the facts and myths about child sexual abuse; how perpetrators operate; and how caring adults can take five important steps to keep children safe. Please submit a copy of your VIRTUS training certificate to the front office.

All Souls is committed to provide a safe and comfortable learning environment. All teachers, staff and volunteers who work with children must undergo fingerprinting and background checks in compliance with the Archdiocesan guidelines and abuse prevention programs. These programs emphasize the importance of parents knowing who has access to their children at school and other sponsored activities. A committee of parish and school staff meets monthly to discuss ways to ensure the safety of our students. This committee does facility/plant walkthroughs, checks on the status of fingerprinting and VIRTUS trainings, reviews policies, and much more.
