Ms. Marcelina "Marcy" GutieRuiz
TK-K English for Spanish strand Ms. GutieRuiz was born and raised in East Los Angeles. She has a strong background in education and family. She often says her greatest accomplishment is raising her five children strongly rooted in education. Prior to coming to All Souls, she volunteered and worked at the Anna Bing Arnold Children’s Center, a laboratory school at Cal State, Los Angeles.

Ms. Miraya Reynosa, '07
TK-K English Teacher for Mandarin strand Ms. Reynosa was born in Northern California and was raised in Southern California. Coming from a multicultural family with catholic and public school backgrounds she found one of her passions: learning about perspectives. This coincided very well with her two majors from UC Santa Cruz because she realized that there was still so much to learn from the past, present, and ever growing future. Since college Ms. Reynosa has worked with children from the ages of 2-18 for about 4 years. Bringing her love of literature, arts, and laughter she landed at All Souls from Panther Care staff to Instructional Aid. Being a former panther herself Ms. Reynosa appreciates the positive changes that All Souls has undergone and is privileged to have an amazing staff to learn from and work with. Outside the classroom she enjoys being with her dogs, drawing, and dodger games.

Ms. Karen Lee
TK-K Mandarin Ms. Lee was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan and later moved to the United States for English education. Ms. Lee was experienced in designs prior to becoming a teacher. She is passionate in all creative things and caring for children’s development. Ms. Lee has over 6 years of experience working at All Souls in the Mandarin strand and looks forward to many more. She is currently pursuing M.A. at Loyola Marymount University with Mandarin Language Authorization. Ms. Lee is also in the process of obtaining her California Teacher Credential.

Mrs. Ligia Muñoz
TK-K Spanish Mrs. Muñoz joins us from St. Therese School in Alhambra where she taught 5th grade and Spanish to the upper grades. Having attended Catholic School for 12 years, she is an advocate of Catholic school education and the traditions and values passed to the students and their families. She was born and raised in Los Angeles and has trained in a variety of Latin styles of dance since the age of eight.

Ms. Monserrat Aguilar
1st-2nd Grade English Ms. Aguilar was born in Michoacan, MX and raised in South East Los Angeles. She has five years of experience working in the education field from public to private schools. As a bilingual and biliterate scholar, she is passionate about literature, cultural representation and intersectional learning. Through her broad working experience, Ms. Aguilar values the learning practices of shaping young minds through socio-emotional, and holistic based learning styles. As a teacher at All Souls, she bridges the standards/learning expectations with special focus on building up a student from the inside out.

Ms. Audrey Ordaz
1st-2nd Grade English Mrs. Ordaz brings a burst of positivity to the classroom, emphasizing the importance of kindness and empathy. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Learning, she offers a deep understanding of diverse learning needs. Now in her third year teaching first grade and second year teaching second grade, Mrs. Ordaz is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and respected on their educational journey. |
Ms. Huini "Lilian" Deng
1st-2nd Grade Mandarin Ms. Deng was born and raised in Guangdong, mainland China. She worked in the business sector in a management position for over ten years before transitioning to the education industry. She then taught English phonics to children at two training centers for two years. In 2018, Ms. Deng moved to America and has been a Mandarin and culture teacher for K-8 students in three Chinese language schools in Massachusetts. In 2023, Ms. Deng relocated to California to stay with her daughter. Ms. Deng enjoys spending time with children and experiencing their growth. Outside the classroom, she is passionate about exploring the world and enjoys the time with family, friends, and nature.

Ms. Elizabeth Bragagnini
3rd-4th Grade English Ms. Bragagnini has been an educator for over 20 years. Her teaching career has been in Catholic and private schools, and her experience ranges from preschool-age, to elementary grades (K-5), and High School Spanish Language (I,II,III, and AP). She has published Spanish I Curriculum for National Network of Digital Schools. She is very passionate about education and student learning. She believes that all students are capable of becoming lifelong learners. As an active member of her parish community, she is a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. She is also a wife and mother to three amazing sons.

Ms. Elizabeth Garcia
3rd-4th Grade English Mrs. Elizabeth Garcia has been a Catholic educator for eleven years. She has also worked eight years in the public school system in Special Education. She was born in Los Angeles California and attended both Catholic and public school systems. Her desire as a young child was to become a teacher and since then education has been her lifelong passion. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies and obtained a Master’s degree in Education from California State University Los Angeles. She has volunteered in her parish community since 1998 as a catechist and a lector. Mrs.Garcia enjoys admiring nature walks and family time with her two daughters and her husband.

Ms. Linda Liu
3rd-4th Grade Mandarin Ms. Liu is a recent graduate of Azusa Pacific University with a Master’s degree in TESOL; she brings two years of experience teaching elementary students. Her background has equipped her with the skills to create an engaging and effective learning environment. Ms. Liu is passionate about supporting and enhancing student learning and is eager to contribute to helping our students achieve their academic goals. We are thrilled to have her join our team and look forward to the fresh perspectives she will bring to our school community. |
Ms. Jastine Caliboso
5th-8th Grade English Ms. Lumbres was born in the Philippines, raised on Guam, and set down her roots in California when she and her family moved in 2005. She comes from a Catholic school background, graduating from Ramona Convent. Her love of writing, literature, and media led to her pursuit of two degrees in English in Riverside and Claremont. Before All Souls, Ms. Lumbres worked with children ages 4-14 for 4 years, notably Chinese students where English was their second language. As a Panther Care staff member and Instructional Aide, Ms. Lumbres has taken a front seat to learning from the exceptionally skilled and compassionate staff that make up All Souls. She is excited to build herself and her students up into well-rounded individuals as part of this Catholic-centered, dual-language, multicultural community. When she’s not troubleshooting the speaker system, she enjoys learning new recipes, traveling, and gardening.

Dr. Pilar Bayani
5th-8th Grade Math Ms. Pilar Bayani recently joined All Souls World Language Catholic School as a Math and Science teacher. She is honored to be part of such a reputable institution and to work alongside dedicated educators. Her goal is to create an engaging, inclusive classroom where every student feels valued and motivated, all while being guided by the Catholic faith. Ms. Bayani is excited to contribute her skills and experience as a medical doctor, engineer, and teacher, while also learning new techniques to benefit the students and the school community. Above all, she looks forward to making a meaningful impact on the kids. She is grateful for the warm welcome and excited to begin this new journey. God bless All Souls! |
Ms. Yi "Vicky" Wang
5th-6th Grade Mandarin Ms. Yi Wang is excited to join the All Souls team! She earned her Bachelor's degree in Translation from SIAS International University in China in 2013 and taught various levels of English in China for two years. After moving to the United States, she earned a Master's Degree in Education from Lee University in 2016 and later taught Chinese language and culture at Lee University in 2017. Since then, Ms. Wang has tutored students from primary to high school in Chinese and earned her teaching credential in Mandarin from CSU Los Angeles. Most recently, she taught at Santa Monica High School. |
Mr. David Villa Alvarez
5th-6th Grade Spanish Mr. Villa is a passionate teacher from Medellin, Colombia. After completing his high school at the Minor Seminary of the Archdiocese of Medellín, he discerned his vocation as a seminarian for eight years, studying Classical Humanities in Salamanca, Spain, and then continuing his religious studies in Rome, Italy. After understanding that his calling was not to the religious life, he joined the police force, ranking first in his class and working in 4 police academies in Colombia. Here, he not only taught a variety of subjects but also contributed to the formation of new police officers. Mr. Villa has been teaching for eight years and has been educating both children and adults in different institutions. He has completed language teaching development courses with Cambridge Assessment, World TESOL Academy, World Learning SIT Graduate Institute, and the U.S. Department of State, further developing his love for language teaching. It is this passion that led him to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages from Saint Thomas University. |
Mr. Shuang "Mark" Luo
7th-8th Grade Mandarin Mr. Luo obtained a B.A. degree with a major in Chinese Language and Literature from Fudan University, one of the top universities in China. He was an associate professor at a private university in Beijing, teaching college students writing and Chinese traditional culture. Also, he has written and published twelve books about literature, culture, and history. Nine of his opinion articles were published on BBC. Mr. Luo moved to America in 2014. He has experience teaching elementary, middle, and high school students Mandarin in the USA. He hopes to serve the students at All Souls and help them achieve their academic goals. Outside of the classroom, Mr. Luo enjoys watching movies, playing chess and Weiqi (Encircling Game), and listening to music and Beijing opera.

Ms. Monica Khatib
7th-8th Grade Spanish Ms. Arroyo-Khatib was born in Los Angeles and graduated from El Monte High School. She began her teaching career in Mexico City where she started her studies at the Anglo-Mexican Foundation. She obtained the Initial Teacher Training Diploma for Learners of English as a Second Language and a Diploma of Specialization in Young Learners. She continued with a CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Cambridge University, England and the Diploma for Teachers and Trainers, Cambridge University, England, where she obtained distinction in all four areas of teaching. She obtained the title of Licenciada en Educacion Bilingūe from the C.E.N.E.V.A.L Mexico and the Secretaria de Educacion Publica. Being a teacher for over 25 years. Sra. Khatib has taught English as a Second Language, Spanish Language Arts, Spanish as a Second Language as well as Religion and Social Studies. Sra Khatib loves God, service, and giving her time to others. She currently serves as a council member in the City of Bell, California. |
