Ms. Marcelina "Marcy" GutieRuiz
TK/K English for Spanish strand Ms. GutieRuiz was born and raised in East Los Angeles. She comes with a strong background in education and family. She often says her greatest accomplishment is raising her five children strongly rooted in education. Prior to coming to All Souls she volunteered and worked at the Anna Bing Arnold Children’s Center, a laboratory school at Cal State, Los Angeles.

Ms. Miraya Reynosa, '07
TK/K English Teacher for Mandarin strand Ms. Reynosa was born in Northern California and was raised in Southern California. Coming from a multicultural family with catholic and public school backgrounds she found one of her passions: learning about perspectives. This coincided very well with her two majors from UC Santa Cruz because she realized that there was still so much to learn from the past, present, and ever growing future. Since college Ms. Reynosa has worked with children from the ages of 2-18 for about 4 years. Bringing her love of literature, arts, and laughter she landed at All Souls from Panther Care staff to Instructional Aid. Being a former panther herself Ms. Reynosa appreciates the positive changes that All Souls has undergone and is privileged to have an amazing staff to learn from and work with. Outside the classroom she enjoys being with her dogs, drawing, and dodger games.

Ms. Jastine Lumbres
1st-2nd Grade English Ms. Lumbres was born in the Philippines, raised on Guam, and set down her roots in California when she and her family moved in 2005. She comes from a Catholic school background, graduating from Ramona Convent. Her love of writing, literature, and media led to her pursuit of two degrees in English in Riverside and Claremont. Before All Souls, Ms. Lumbres worked with children ages 4-14 for 4 years, notably Chinese students where English was their second language. As a Panther Care staff member and Instructional Aide, Ms. Lumbres has taken a front seat to learning from the exceptionally skilled and compassionate staff that make up All Souls. She is excited to build herself and her students up into well-rounded individuals as part of this Catholic-centered, dual-language, multicultural community. When she’s not troubleshooting the speaker system, she enjoys learning new recipes, traveling, and gardening.

Ms. Monserrat Aguilar
1st-2nd Grade English Ms. Aguilar was born in Michoacan, MX and raised in South East Los Angeles. She has five years of experience working in the education field from public to private schools. As a bilingual and biliterate scholar, she is passionate about literature, cultural representation and intersectional learning. Through her broad working experience, Ms. Aguilar values the learning practices of shaping young minds through socio-emotional, and holistic based learning styles. As a teacher at All Souls, she bridges the standards/learning expectations with special focus on building up a student from the inside out.

Ms. Elizabeth Bragagnini
3rd-4th Grade English Ms. Bragagnini has been an educator for over 20 years. Her teaching career has been in Catholic and private schools, and her experience ranges from preschool-age, to elementary grades (K-5), and High School Spanish Language (I,II,III, and AP). She has published Spanish I Curriculum for National Network of Digital Schools. She is very passionate about education and student learning. She believes that all students are capable of becoming lifelong learners. As an active member of her parish community, she is a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. She is also a wife and mother to three amazing sons.
Ms. Elizabeth Garcia
3rd-4th Grade English Mrs. Elizabeth Garcia has been a Catholic educator for eleven years. She has also worked eight years in the public school system in Special Education. She was born in Los Angeles California and attended both Catholic and public school systems. Her desire as a young child was to become a teacher and since then education has been her lifelong passion. She graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies and obtained a Master’s degree in Education from California State University Los Angeles. She has volunteered in her parish community since 1998 as a catechist and a lector. Mrs.Garcia enjoys admiring nature walks and family time with her two daughters and her husband.

Mr. Paul Stein
5th-8th Grade Math The son of educators, Mr. Stein loves teaching himself and has been an educator for 24 years in Catholic and public schools. Although the majority of his career has been as a math teacher, he also taught science for 7 years at Sacred Heart High School. Prior to Sacred Heart, he taught English in South Korea for over 2 years. In his spare time, Mr. Stein enjoys walking, swimming, and camping. He feels a tremendous connection to nature. He is a music lover who enjoys all kinds of music and going to concerts. Mr. Stein holds a B.A. in Economics from U.C.S.D and a M.A. in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding from Cal. State Dominguez Hills. He earned certification as a mediator through a fellowship with the Asian Pacific Dispute Resolution Center in Pasadena. |

Mr. Glenn Dodd
5th-8th Grade Science Mr. Dodd has worked as an educator for more than 40 years with experience teaching third grade through adults. He has worked at both public and Catholic schools teaching general science, biology, chemistry, and health education. He involves students in hands-on lab experiences, problem-based cooperative learning, and critical writing as they address the Next Generation Science Standards. He and his wife, Terry have two grown children and a six-year- old granddaughter. When he isn’t teaching, Mr. Dodd enjoys time with family, exercise, gardening, writing music, traveling, and serving his church community.

Mr. Marvin Cruz
5th-8th Grade English Mr. Cruz is a Southern California native. He developed a deep call to work with youth when he was a youth group leader in Moreno Valley leading weekly prayer meetings and hosting retreats for Confirmation students. His volunteer work as a high school catechist eventually led him to pursue a career as a teacher. He has 7 years of experience working in public after-school programs throughout San Gabriel Valley and Riverside County, and has worked with at-risk youth at a treatment community. Mr. Cruz is at the end of completing his Master of Arts in Teaching, English Education (Secondary) and is eager to make an impact at All Souls. He likes to balance out his life by practicing martial arts and spending time with family and his dog, Ziggy. He also loves supporting and watching the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ms. Toni Hernandez-Bush
TK/K English Instructional Aid (Mandarin Strand) Ms. Hernandez-Bush received her B.A. from Loyola-Marymount University and then completed the Legal Assistant Program at the University of San Diego. She spent the next 40 years as a Legal Assistant. Ms. Hernandez-Bush after much discernment decided to leave the legal field to serve in Catholic Education. Children are a “wonder”. |

Ms. Brandyn Cardenaz
TK/K English Instructional Aid (Spanish Strand) Mr. Cardenaz was born in Hollywood and raised in Alhambra. He is a first generation college graduate and earned his BA in Psychology from California State University Northridge. He is an inspiration to students and enjoys helping them learn. With his own desire to bring a positive learning atmosphere to his students, his goal is to give them the resources and motivation to grow into confident and independent scholars. He is excited about the future of All Souls and to work alongside a beautiful community. |

Ms. Andrea Encarnación
1-2nd Instructional Aide Ms. Encarnación was raised in the San Gabriel Valley. She is a first-generation college graduate. Ms. Encarnación attended Pasadena City College to get her AA in Sociology, then later transferred to California State University Long Beach and received her BA in Sociology. Her goal is to positively affect the next generation, by providing guidance, resources, and support. In her leisure time, she likes going to the beach and watching the sunset.
